I was saved when I was 9 years old at church camp. A legacy of Christ passed down from my grandparents. I still remember the overwhelming joy that first night, of knowing that Jesus was in my heart and that I was going to heaven, to be with him when I died. So much joy that I couldn’t sleep, even after a long day at camp.
I will never know all of the things that God has kept me from, but I can look back and clearly see His goodness all over my life. With me through all the challenges of life, my comforter, my guidance and my peace. Bringing miracles that that the world wouldn’t notice. Bad blood work that never came to fruition, an insurance company changing policy for us, and a lost child being found at Universal Studios, all come to mind.
The most recent time of despair when alcohol and addiction affected our family. The world said my son’s future was dim, but we continued to trust and pray, believing that God still had good plans for him.
For believing that God is with us, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him—that is the faith that pleases God. (Heb. 11:6)
Today our son is working and his mind is clear. His wife and children with him, in the same home. Another miracle. We give all of the glory to God for every blessing, because we know that all good things come from Him. Amen.
